Diverticulitis is a very painful ordeal

So after 23 years of dealing with these attacks and 8 stays in the hospital, I finally decided to have the affected portion, which wound up being 12 inches of colon removed. So I went in Thursday morning and did just that. Wow is all I can say. Kudos to all these women who have abdominal surgery. I've had numerous surgeries and nothing prepared me for this. The following three days I thought I was on the verge of death. My faith in God is just about all that kept me going. But like a switch Sunday was better and today a totally different world. I'm now at home and feeling lots better. So if any of you fellow 2 coolers out there are in this similar predicament, my advice to y'all is get your second and third or however many opinions you need, but if your quality of life could better, go for it. I simply refused to let the disease control me any longer. Yes the pain for the first three days is excruciating, it is tolerable, and it is able to be overcome. I'm 37 years old and I have a long life ahead of me, now my baby boy will have a daddy, and I can give my full self to my fiance and my son. Not to mention, having the days of feeling healthy enough to fish. I love that feeling. God bless you guys.
