black plastic covering?

I am thinking about using black plastic to cover my 2 raised beds. Then cut holes for the plants. I already have the drip water tubing and drippers. In the past when I have covered the beds for weed killing, I have had ant beds under the plastic, obviously for the warmth. Not planting a lot, just about 12 tomatoes and some cukes and jalapenos. Any thoughts about the ants. Thanks in advance. Wes
