A weekend trip(with kids or not) to consider

My wifey came home yesterday and told me all about a trip that her women's club had made to visit the HPD Horse barn. This is her report: She said the Officers present that met them and gave them the tour were the nicest, most polite, informed, articulate cops she had ever met. They were young and loved their jobs, every second. The group got to visit with all the 30 or so horses and 3 mules. The horses were extremely well behaved but the biggest moochers you ever encountered. Apparently, they get a lot of treats from visitors and they know how to beg for them. lol They are very gentle(nibble) but beware of the mules, they bite in their zest for a treat(I wouldn't let a kid feed a mule). Horses are of several breeds from huge to larger than huge. They are loyal to their partners, not difficult to train, and each animal has extensive training. The mules on the other hand are very loyal but also very difficult to train, because of their stubbornness. Officers said the barn is open every Sat and Sun and allows visitors. If you go, I recommend bringing a sack of apples and you will be the hero of the day.(also suggest you check with the officers first on that)
