24 to 12 volt trolling motor?

I have an old 24 volt motor guide 55 lb on the boat. Thinking if I'm lucky I can get one more year out of it. I have the chance to buy a almost new minnkota 55 lb 12 volt. I have started Bass fishing again and when I'm on the bay I run the shore line for reds. I'm on the trolling moter 90% of my time on the water.

So both are 55 lb. If I go with the 12 volt I will still run two battries. What difference will I see between the two?
