Snagged a New Curado 200PG - Shimano Got This One Right!

I stopped by Bass Pro today and asked the guy at the reel counter if they had any of the new Curados in stock and he said they had one left, but someone was looking at it. Fortunately for me they didn't buy it and I got a chance at it.

This one is the 5.5:1 gear ratio, which I wanted for big crank baits and spinnerbaits. I don't want to go down the rat hole of the Curado G series, but this reel has made up for it and then some. This dude is smooth and the spool free spools for a very long time. It has a great feel in the palm of the hand and feels like a very solid reel all around. It will be very difficult to find a better value for $179.

I was one of the guys that had switched to Lew's reels after the release of the Curado G series, but so far I feel like this model will bring myself, and many others, back to the Curado bandwagon. I'm just looking forward to getting it on the water for a true test, but I don't see anything at this time that makes me think I'll be disappointed.

A side note if Bass Pro gets any more in stock in th next few days is that they are offering a $30 credit if you bring in an old functional reel. They even told me to buy a $5 reel at customer service to turn in towards this reel since I didn't have a trade in with me. So I guess you could say I got it for $154!
