If you haven't pulled cedar plugs yet for tuna and wahoo, you need to give it a try. The danged things are devastating around deep water shrimp boat, around structure, and along weed lines and rips. They produce incredible action in your wake, either right in the wash or back a bit. I can't tell that color makes much difference with plain ol' unpainted cedar wood being as good a choice as any. The rub comes in rigging them. The only ones I've seen for sale are either unrigged or rigged on cheapo mono which kinda works on blackfin but NOT on good ol' GOM fangbangers like 'hoos or kings. Wire is the traditional way to tooth proof them but it seems like only one bite ends up putting a kink in the wire that requires re-rigging the whole thing. My question to ya'll is have any of you tried multi-strand and or cable? If you have, would you give me/us the benefit of what you have learned? Thanks, PECOS
