Lake Conroe Ethanol Free Fuel

Can anyone around Lake Conroe verify if Lakeside Marina now carries ethanol free fuel? Pure-gas.org shows that they have it, but it wasn't listed on their site a month or two ago and I just wanted to know if they really do have it or not.

icechest slide out

i am looking for ideas for an icechest slide out that will allow me to slide out a 120qt igloo out from under my seats behind the console. i only have about 1.5 inch clearance above the lid. i am not interested paying the outrageous price for a manfactured slide.

i have seen great responses in the past here on 2cool to solve issues of other boaters.

Do Anyone have any advice on charters to use to go deep sea fishing in Jabail Saudi Arabia? I have relocated here for a year or two. Seems like most of the guides here only go about 3 or 5 miles out and satisfied with catching small aquarium size fish. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dunes and Fins

I tried to reduce this to a size where it would look decent on this forum but its just not possible with these two panoramas so I'm going to put a link to them on a site set up to display them.

This one is of the petrified sand dunes in Arches along with some nice fins.

http://ift.tt/1pUjgNB

And this one is of the La Salle mountains on the east side of Moab. First time out with my T3 I didn't know to put the camera in portrait mode for a pano :)

Another "short" pano of the Fiery Furnace portion of Arches NP.

These are all handheld just turning in one spot and guessing the overlap. Actually I didn't even own a tripod at the time :)

Photomerge in PS is awesome for this kind of stuff. I can't see any seams in the ones I've done so far. That content aware stuff is cool. And I've barely even scratched the surface of what that program will do. A project in itself just learning it. Can't wait to get the Losmandy get to Colorado and get some time-lapse panning shots of the park.

Crispi Bacon Caper

Did you hear about the lady in Utah that, in a drunken stupor, tried to burn her ex-boyfriend's house down? She put bacon on the wood burning stove and when the police arrived there was smoke coming out the door.

They extinguished the blaze and arrested her for arson. Her name? Cameo Crispi. Cameo Christi coped a caper using crispy bacon cooked to charcoal.

My cousin thought it was a pun. Had to post the link to make her believe it was a true story.

Colorado river sunset

My bil came down from n tx for a visit so a trip to Matagorda beach was in order, then a nice dinner on the river at river bend sitting outside on the deck. Texas shrimp boat depth range?

Anybody know the details on how the shrimp boats operate off the Texas coast?

What I understand so far is that in the deep water they are only allowed to pull from sunset to sunrise, and in the morning they are anchored in water up to about 250ft max.

It seems that when they are pulling nets they are always dragging bottom, and you can see that the lines from the outriggers are going down at a sharp angle. In that case how much clearance do you need to give when crossing over the back of a boat dragging in 200ft....a couple hundred feet?

Also, what is the max depth they drag bottom? I have seen boats anchored out to 250 ft in the day, and free drifting in the daytime out to 300-350ft...do they pull nets out that deep at night, or is there a limit to how deep the shrimp live or how deep they can drag bottom effectively?

Tundra Drivers What would you do

I feel I have a great deal on a 2014 1794 but can't get the upcoming Tundra TRD Pro out of my head.

Would you wait and hope you can get the same deal again or pull the trigger.

The 1794 has a super sweet interior but standard suspension so I would want to get it lifted and leveled a couple inches and new tires.

Tundra pro has heavier suspension with 2" front lift factory and Bilstien's and more HP. Would have to have leather seats installed aftermarket.

Please no Ford, Chevy or Dodge or made in America post. I've had all three and know the comparison.

I love this quote: "A brilliant quarter and a half in the fourth preseason game doesn't mean Carr is ready to be a quality NFL starting quarterback. But we've seen enough this preseason to know he's a better option than Schaub, who simply doesn't have arm strength or confidence."

Tarpon and Kings?

My granddad lives in N Texas. He read a report of people catching tarpon in west bay/jetties and kings/ling being good. He called and asked me to set up a trip for us. I have very little experience fishing for anything other than trout/reds in the bays. He's 82 and this may be one of our last fishing trips together.

Any recommendations on a guide? Realistically, what's the chances of us catching a tarpon if we go in the next 3 weeks or less? We probably won't want to venture far. His days of 3 hr plus boat rides offshore are pretty much over. If tarpon fishing will be tough, any advise on a king/ling trip?

Rods and Reels - Revo, 2 Bantam Curado CU200s, Shoal Patrol, 2 American Rodsmiths

I am looking to sell the following to fund the purchases of other gear. The wife says I have too much! All gear is located in Missouri City and we can discuss discounts when purchasing multiple items. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information. See photos below. Gear is in used condition.

Rods:

1 - Shoal Patrol Casting Rod - 7’0” - $50

Line Weight - 8-14lb

Lure Weight - 1/4-5/8 oz.

It has a short split grip EVA handle. This rod is great for throwing tails and small topwaters. It has a classy red, white, and blue thread wrap!

2 - American Rodsmiths Casting Rod - 6’6” - $25

ARS-TW66 Titanium Series

Line Weight - 8-15 lbs

Lure Weight - 1/4-5/8 oz.

Cork handle.

3 - American Rodsmiths Casting Rod - 6’6” - $25

ARS-WSL Titanium Series

Line Weight - 6-12 lbs

Lure Weight - 1/8-3/8 oz.

Cork handle.

Reels:

1 - Abu Garcia Revo SX - $110 ($140 with Shoal Patrol Rod)

This reel has 11 bearings and is used but not abused. Slight corrosion on those shiny plastic parts (push button, etc.). Reel is extremely smooth. Spooled with 12 lb mono that could be replaced but I will leave it on so new buyer can test cast.

2 - Curado Bantam CU 200 - $85 ($100 with American Rodsmiths Rod)

This reel has 5 bearings and is just about bullet proof. Sadly, they are too big for my hands. Strung with 30 lb Power Pro Slick 8 that has been used 1 trip.

3 - Curado Bantam CU 200 - $85 ($100 with American Rodmsiths Rod)

Same as above but strung with 40 lb Sufix 832. This line was previously on another reel so I reeled it on to this one. Less than 10 trips on this spool of braid.

Help Cleaning Big Catfish

Fellas and Ladies I needed some vacation bad, and finally took some last week. My boys and I went to some family land and had a bunch of fun. Shot bows, shot rifles, checked game cameras etc.

We also caught some big old channel cats and I felt like a beginner trying to clean them. I've filleted tons of fish, but just felt like I was doing it wrong. These were about 9-13 pounds, not the biggest in the world, but big for me.

The first one I filleted like I would anyother fish and it just didn't work well. The rib bones were too much for my electric knife. Plus, the guts were just in the way. I gutted the rest like you would a deer, and then filleted them. This worked all right, but it seems there should be a better way.

This is the first one, and you can see how copious the amount of "innards" were.

Just figure you folks might know of a better way. Here's some the little blog post I did with more pictures and a little write up if you are so inclined.http://wp.me/p3bCKM-p2

Labor Day Trip to Rocksprings

Who else is going besides me? I want to go check the cabin, cut brush to open up clearings near the feeders, fill feeders, maybe meet my new neighbors, shoot all the pigs I can, hunt an Axis doe or buck and hopefully shoot a few doves. I think we've been getting a little rain there. Axis were moving in late June, hopefully they still are! We'll see! Take care and Happy Labor Day!

Installed some LED lights in the boat today and I think I like them. I ran five lights back to a bus bar with both positive/ground. I've got space left for another five if I decide to add some more LED. Might add some small LED lights in the livewells and lockers.

Prayers needed for my dad

My pops is the toughest SOB I know but right now he's at the mercy of a situation he can't control and needs the power of prayer to pull him through.

Yesterday my phone rang and the caller ID showed it was him. I answered but he didn't respond. When I called back he was short and to the point then said I'm really busy and have to let you go. Before I could say anything he had hung up. I didn't think too much of it because when he's at work he usually makes it quick and hangs up when he's done talking. However it turns out there was more to the story this time... He called this morning to apologize for cutting me short yesterday and then explained he was having a heart attack and hung up when the ems got there to transport him to the hospital!

Happened around lunch yesterday. Blood tests showed elevated enzymes, ekg indicated heart attack. They think he had another at the hospital last night. Cardiologist didn't come yesterday and then didn't show up until around 5PM today. He took one look at dad's chart and came apart at the seams. Claims he wasn't notified until this morning and was only told dad came in dehydrated complaining of chest pain. He immediately moved dad to icu, put him on nitro drip, and ordered a cath for first thing in the am. Until then it's a waiting game.

I'm 38 years old and today when I walked into that room I saw my dad truly scared of something for the first time in my entire life. He's a Christian, and was even a Sunday school teacher when I was growing up so I know he believes in the power of Christ. Now we just have to pray that God's plans for him here are not yet done.

Article for the Guy that maybe wants to start Saltwater Flyfishing.

This is from an old 06 post I got from a gentleman from midcoast area that taught Flyfishing back in the mid 2000's to a lot of the TKF kayakers. I have not heard from him in several years when he changed jobs. I doubt that much has changed other than the prices on the gear. ;) I just never got the time to get into flyfishing. Heck I do not have time to get the BC out of the garage till late September.

JimD sent a nice email and asked for some perspectives on getting started with saltwater fly-fishing. So, here we go:

1. Rod--in saltwater flyfishing, at least, I think the rod is everything. My preference is for an 8wt rod that is 9ft long. Now, you can certainly fish with lighter weight rods with success, but my sense is that the faster we can land a fish, the less stress it endures and the greater likelihood it will survive being released.

I prefer a moderately fast rod for a couple of reasons. A "slow" rod creates a larger loop and larger loops mean more wind resistance and less distance. A very fast rod is just flat harder to cast for me and results in more tangles and knots in the line. I have seen very fine anglers use all three rod speeds with success, though. So, to some degree, your style will dictate your rod. But I don't think you can go wrong with a moderate speed rod and the manufacturer will provide information about rod speed in their catalogs or online.

Make sure the hardware, that is the reel seat and the guides will hold up in saltwater. Just ask the manufacturer. Most have a very good warranty, anyway.

As for manufacturer, take your pick. I like Sage but also fish a Winston rod. The TFO rods have come a LONG way and there are some very fine "sticks" provided by this manufacturer.

2. Reels--I fish Billy Pate and Ross Reels. Love them both. The Pate reels are my "go to" reels because they are durable and quite saltwater resistant. They are also expensive and take an engineering degree to disassemble and clean. I guess that is the trade-off.

Make sure the reel in which you are interested is anodized to resist corrosion and that it has a good "friction" drag system.

If you can afford a good saltwater reel like the Pate or Ted Jurasik, save your bucks and buy one. I know it is a hellacious outlay, but I have my first Billy Pate ten years after I bought it and it works as well as it did the day I bought it. Which is amazing when one considers how poorly I treat it......

3. Flyline--I use the basic Cortland 444 8wt, weight forward, floating flyline. I have tried all the designer lines, you know, and find this line works as well as any of them and for a lot less money. I like a brightly colored line because I can see it and at my rapidly advancing age, every little bit helps. These lines are very durable and don't seem to stiffen up in cold weather.

4. Leader--I am sold on the Umpqua "redfish" leader which is a monofilament tapered leader. I use either a 10lb or 12 lb test leader. You can find this leader at Cabelas, sometimes, in huge packages at an unbelievably low price. I don't use anything else.

I attach the leader to the flyline with a braided loop attachment that is made by Orvis. It slips on the end of the flyline like Chinese handcuffs and has a loop in the end through which I can pass the leader. I have never had one fail to hold and they make changing leaders a snap. Though they are Orvis products, I find them regularly at Bass Pro Shop.

5. Tippet--take your choice of any tippet material that is the same weight and diameter as the end of your leader. I attach it with a loop to loop connection by making two "perfection loops" (one in the tippet and one in the leader) and then just slipping one over the other. I prefer flourocarbon tippet because it is less visible, but I do not use flourocarbon leaders.

6. Shoes--I prefer a boot that covers my ankle and has a sole that will not easily cut. Flats booties work OK, but I prefer the flats boots that are made by Simms or by Cabelas. They lace up and cover my foot up to the ankle and above. In looking back at all the cuts on my current boots, it becomes clear that this investment has saved me many a bad oyster cut.

7. Sunglasses--I use two different pair over the course of a day. A pair of amber glasses for low light and a pair of vermillion glasses for times after the sun is up. Polarized, of course.

8. Fanny pack--I got a really good one from Cabelas that is made by Simms. Waterproof and the zipper is covered so that it is much less likely to corrode and freeze up.

9. Flies--I use five patterns (and an ace in the hole pattern) and that is it:

a. A seaducer pattern that has a very slow sink rate. I tend toward brown and tan.

b. A spoonfly. Casts like an anvil, but can be very effective when small bait fish are "flashing" or when the water is off color.

c. A topwater popping bug. Take your pick. I like yellow because it is easier for me to see.

d. The ubiquitous chartreuse and white clouser minnow. Sinks faster and has greater water column coverage.

e. A fly that resembles a small shad that I have seen referred to as the "hot flash minnow." Great, super, incredibly good speckled trout fly.

f. Ace in the hole--a red epoxy fly that is diamond shaped. I guarantee you that this fly will attract and hook black drum when nothing else on earth works.

OK, here are beginning requirements in terms of gear.

The real (or reel) secret to successful saltwater flyfishing is successful flycasting. The skill set is very different than that of freshwater fishing for trout or bass. In saltwater flyfishing, casting accurately and for distance is the ball game. So, mechanics have to be pretty darned good.

If you are interested in learning, take a class. Flycasting is not intuitive and there are some really great instructors around.

Email or post if there are any other questions with which I might help you make a purchase or if you have specific saltwater flyfishing questions.

Thanks again,

Input on CCs

I'm looking for pros and cons of certain center consoles. Other than fishing a on a few I have zero knowledge of what to look for, brands to avoid, easy to work on or fix, bildge access, fishable space, so on so forth. Brand new is not really in the cards but late 2000 models with 4strokes are the route we wanna go. My short list includes SeaVee, Jupiter, Contender, Regulator, somewhere in the 27-31 range. I just don't really know certain details of each and would like to hear input. Thanks.

Red Tuna Shirt Club announces August shirt - Jambo's Sportfishing!

Red Tuna Shirt Club is proud to announce our August shirt - Jambo's Sportfishing from North Coast, Washington!

This one-of-a-kind shirt has been sent to all Red Tuna members - let us know how you like it.

If you haven't joined yet, do so today and you will receive this authentic Jambo's shirt right away as your first shirt. Then, each month you will receive an original new t-shirt from a top charter boat or fishing lodge. Just visit redtunashirtclub.com .

Jambo’s Sportfishing is a leading charter company operating out of Neah Bay, an area north of Seattle at the Northwestern tip of the United States. The area is flanked by rugged beauty with steep cliffs, lush forests, the Pacific Ocean, and the best fishing the northwestern coast has to offer.

Jambo’s is owned and operated by Michael Jamboretz, a native who grew up fishing the area and who has been exploring the waters of the Pacific Northwest for more than 35 years . He captains a safe and wide 37′ Delta Marine Charterboat from Neah Bay and takes pride in providing the best equipment available and going the extra mile to help customers achieve success.

Jambo’s trips focus on salmon and halibut, with a variety of bottom fish and ling cod rounding out the box. Halibut average 35 to 70 lbs but Jambo’s has landed many 100lbers in the local waters. The Washington season only runs a few days but Jambo’s takes customers the short distance into Canadian waters for Halibut all summer long.

Neah Bay also has the Best Salmon Fishing on the West Coast. From Swiftsure Bank and the Straits right in front of Neah Bay, Jambo’s can easily access all of the Salmon that take the left turn and enter the Straits on their way to Puget Sound and Canadian Rivers and streams. The average size is in the mid teens to mid twentys, but later in the summer Jambo’s regularly lands fish in the 30 lb class.

To experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and some of the best halibut and salmon fishing in the US, call Capt. Jamboretz and plan your adventure with Jambo’s Sportfishing !

Corkscrew BBQ Is Back in Bidness!

If any of you find yourself in the Spring/Woodlands area and are jonesin' for some great "Q" Corkscrew BBQ is back on line. They shut down over the last 3 weeks to install their new "bigger" pit and are reopening in exactly 49 minutes! The bigger pit will keep 'em from running out so soon. They've ruined me for anyone else's Q as I haven't had any since they shut down. Gotta go get in line, see ya!

Oh yeah, free beer while you wait in line on the weekends! How cool is that?!

And God Made a Doc

Offshore partner wanted.

A divorce, then the economic fiasco has put a serious dent in my offshore activities. I am pretty hardcore in the fact, that I have taken multi day trips in a small boat. I am a vet, and meticulously plan for the worst. A close family friend has bought a big sport fisher and never uses his 25' Wellcraft. It has 150 merc saltwater series. One with a very new power head. It is an older boat, but is very functional.

This is what I can offer, split the boat 70/30, then probably do a few upgrades and rig boat for battle. Rigging and repairs 50/50. I can store, maintain, and repair as needed. Will build covered storage in La Ward which is between port Lavaca and Palacios. Boat will be 45 mi to either Poc, or Matagorda. 90 mi to port aransas.

I have the time, know how, experience, and desire. Looking for someone that is new to sport but loves the offshore challenge, and wants to learn. I will be down this weekend and will take some pics of it.

If there is ever a time for a person that wants to get into offshore fishing without adding a mortgage payment, this is your shot. Initial cash will probably be around 10,000 to 12,000. This covers boat/motor, trailer, update electronics, additional fuel capability, boat us insurance/towing, and some offshore rigging plus additional safety gear. I carry props, fuel filters, small generator, ditch bag, life raft, spare bilge/emergency pump, waterproof handheld VHF with extra battery's, handheld gps, and emergency beacons.

My ideal trip heads out early and hits some snapper, then out stopping at various rigs/wrecks. Try to pickup some Dolphin or wahoo, and then continue out to 850+ for some tile. Overnight rig for swords, and toy with schooling tuna. At dawn put out a spread and do some sport bill fishing. Then settle in for a long ride back looking for floating debris, or weed lines. Pick up the rest of our state snapper limits and head in. Once in, clean the fish and then I will handle the boat.

If this interests you, I would be more than willing to negotiate. I really love going early week when weather is right, but schedule is tough with new job. Usually stuck to weekends. On other way I would help ease trip expenses is to take customers and expense out costs, or people that will pay their way to go. Average fuel for said trip is probably 5 to 6 hundred alone.

Lost my 10ft push pole today it shook out if it's little hinges and sank to the bottom of the channel. Any recommendations for a good push pole/stake out pole? Nothing over priced I only paid 80 for the last one it was a boat show special but a little too skinny for me

Tough grind

Anyone else find this past wkend to be a tough grind? Every spot we hit in Aransas Bay and Estes produces small numbers of reds and drums. Many just under the limit. Skip jacks were cheap!

Lil'Gun Question

I purchased a can of Lil'Gun for reloads of my .32 H&R Mag. I made up some test loads using Sierra 90 gr HP. I did 10.5, 11, and 11.5 gr batches.

10.5 averaged 1230fps

11 averaged 1220fps

11.5 averaged 1250fps

All loads gave a good group.

My concern is the heat this stuff produces. I had 10 rounds for each powder weight. I was shooting one shot and then writing down the fps then shot other round and write that down. So I was not rushing the shots allowing about a minute between each shot. The barrel was getting really hot. Is this powder worth that much heat?

PINS rigs disappearing

A friend of mine just came back from the Spinnaker rig. His words left a hole where my stomach used to be...

The Feds have sent the destroyers to 5mm to remove our beloved yellow rig. My friend says it's nearly all down already, and is surrounded by a bunch of crane boats finishing the job.

This administration will have to answer some day for the agenda they continue to drive forward. In the name of conservation they remove the rig/reefs and BLOW UP the entire structure, remove every scrap of structure and move on, leaving a blank mud bottom. And the fish they are "protecting"? Dead. All of them. Their explosives leave a floating slick of dead snapper and grouper. Mission accomplished, they move on to the next kill site. This is evil.

Lil Hep!

Im going to Africa next spring. I need to buy a decent Digital camera and will try it out this fall at deer camp. I want to be able to take portraits and change lens and take some longer shots. $1000 is my budget. Some suggestions please, and sample photos.

THANKS in advance for your help!

Deer Lease Wanted

Looking for a deer lease, single individual w/family that doesn't hunt but will accompany me on occasion. Not necessary for a trophy lease, enjoy shooting big deer but not the only reason I go hunting. Would like to have some place to fish on for my 4yr old son to enjoy.

Not really limited to a budget, it is deer hunting, but will not spend over 5K for a place to shoot 3 - 4 deer. Location can be any where within 5 hrs from house.

If anyone has any openings send me a pm and lets see.

USA and DEFCON 1

On TV, FOX NEWS this morning, a Ret. Lt. General was giving his opinion concerning the remarks a 4 Star General (in DC) made about the situation w/ ISIS. Lt.G. says the US should go into DEFCON1, possibilty of ISIS hitting US cities, and the fact that Sept.11th is coming soon. Sounded scarey and very serious. I am sure his comments will be aired again. i.e. " Clear and Present Danger"..........

Wife's First Billfish

We fished the TWAT Tournament out of Port A. Didn't make the money but had a Great time. My wife Mellissa caught her first Billfish a White Marlin. My sons girlfriend Angela caught her first offshore fish a small Dolphin.

It was a bit choppy running straight into the seas all night but became pretty during the day. Not as much weeds down south making trolling easier.

Cool thing the tourney did was give a silver marlin necklace to all the girls that caught their first billfish.

My wife got to take her swim in the harbor by the weigh station.

1983 Fishin Ski Barge

Hey all. As a newer fisherman, I'm a continual reader here, but as I absorb a lot of info, I don't have a lot to say about the issues, so I'm a first time poster.

Looking to sell our 1983 Fishin Ski Barge 19' Center Console. Need the money to pay some bills (new baby on the way), but not desperate. Link to the ad on Craigslist is here: http://ift.tt/1t5oOqG

The hull is 18' 11", and has an 84" Beam. There is a LOT of room on the deck with this layout. Our family takes it out routinely, and this is a very reliable boat. We've had 8 in this boat before, so it can hold a lot of folks to go cruising with. Also a great 2 person fishing boat in the flats, as it can run real shallow.

The boat is powered by a 1983 2-Stroke 115 Evinrude, with power tilt. WOT will get you just over 40 mph, but cruises very well also. We also have a bimini top which covers almost all of the seating area. The bimini top is very sturdy, we routinely use it while cruising. There is also an Eagle Cuda 250 GPS/Fish Finder/Depth Finder (now rebranded as a Lowrance Mark4) which I've made a removable mount for.

I've cleaned the boat out after every trip, and thoroughly flushed the engine out routinely. I've had the impeller and lower seals replaced, and the engine gone over at Dockside Marine, where they checked compression of the cylinders as well (all good). Bilge pump is less than 2 yrs old, and runs flawlessly either on auto or manual setting.

I've got some additional life preservers I can add in as well, and will give you all of my boat maintenance items as well (transom saver for towing, boat wash, compound, flushing earmuffs, fuel stabilizer, etc). I'll include the boat cover I keep on the boat as well. This boat will be ready to hit the water day one. I have titles for all in my name, and will help transfer at TPWD on 45 South if you so choose.

A lot of folks say the happiest day of your life with your boat is when you sell it. That is not the case here. This is a great low maintenance boat, and would like to see it go to someone who will use it and appreciate it. Email me for any questions or offers, I'll get back to you as quickly as I can.

For those unfamiliar with Fishin Ski Barge, they were built out of Knoxville, Arkansas until the company finally closed its doors in 1994. This is the same lineage company as Kenner Boats, and these were designs of Bill Kenner's father.

Shoalwater Cat, Haynie Cat others ok for Rigs???

What boats besides SUPER SHALLOW WATER BOATS like shallow classics skiffs etc should I STAY AWAY from if I want to run to rigs on a good day or jetties or coastline in...

it seems some of the hayie cats and shoal water cats have some low sides...which would shy me away from running out that far....is that a good observation or am I being a P&$$^

Pus Asp

Ever get hit by one of these guys? Had one fall down my shirt working in the yard. Thought I got hit by a wasp but it was all over. Crazy headache and almost puking. Worst bug sting I have had in a while. Weird headache and tight twitching arm muscles.! Benadryl seems to be helping.

Fellow Texans, need your help!

We entered a BassPro contest for Ascend Outdoor Products. The contest was to shoot a short video using their products. Much to my surprise the video is now in first place in the nationwide contest. There is an entry from Florida that is in second place and has been gaining ground. We can't have a Florida fisherman beat us out, right? Please take a moment to click on the link to the Youtube video. Hit the "like" button (if you have a youtube account) if not, just your clicking on the link will add a "view" which will also help. Thank you in advance for your help!

One or two power poles?

Signing the papers this week on a 2006 Skeeter ZX22 bay with a 200 Yamaha HPDI. It's completely loaded out all the way, including a power pole. I've seen guys with 2. Would this boat need two or is one enough?

Scooter build plans

I know that this has been covered on this forum before. I would like to build a small scooter ( about 12' or 13'). I have seen the Glen L design, but it is larger than I would like. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to find plans or even some sketches?

I appreciate any help that you can offer,

Gulf fishing authority says red snapper fix is easy

Here is a great one-on-one interview with the Gulf of Mexico's preeminent expert on red snapper, Dr. Bob Shipp, who pretty much tells it like it is.

Q: What do you think of the sector-separation proposal that would break off the charter fleet from the recreational quota?

Dr. Shipp: "Unfortunately, this is the byproduct of the whole flaw in the system. You turn brother against brother, charter guys against the recreational guys. Historically, they were always together. I see both sides of this. I think philosophically, it's a bad deal to split up the recreational fishery. On the other hand, I see that the charterboat guys have their backs against the wall. They have no alternative but to try to go off on their own. I don't think it's going to solve their problems; it's a Band-Aid. "

Never a Dull Moment!

I made it out a couple days ago looking for Cobia off of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel. No luck there but I did get into a bunch of small blues off of Cape Henry. I also made a trip to New Point Comfort where I was greeted by a couple jumping Dolphin and hundreds of Pelicans. Back at home the pair of Bald Eagles in my front yard were waiting for me on a windy night yesterday. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days.
