Fiberglass and gelcoat repairs

There is a really great guy, Andy Miller up in Wisconsin that has graciously made a series of videos about this and he has a channel on YouTube called Boatworks Today...



These are great videos for those that have never attempted their own repairs and a good refresher for those that don't do it very often.



For the first timmers that may be thinking of taking on a project, none of this is rocket science by any means but working with resins and gelcoats can be unforgiving, once you add the catalyst the working time you will have is no joke... And that will vary considerably with temperature and humidity.



With that said any fiberglass or gel coat that you apply can be removed by grinding it away enabling you to start over... the only thing being lost is time and materials.

Jigging for Squid?

I have had a lot of time after my Knee replacement surgery to sit and cruse the net watching videos and have a question?



Has anyone jigged for squid? Can it be done here along the Texas coast? It just seems like something that could be fun and I happen to like Squid in batter, butter and sated.

Daiwa Mag-Sealed spinning reels

Whos got them and what do you like/hate about it? Its my understanding that the magnetic oil is not available to the public and the reels must be serviced by a diaiwa certified shop. Looking at the Ballistic EX2500. My pflueger patriarchs are just not cutting it anymore as far longevity goes.

Fishing Magazine Donation

Hey all, not real sure where to post this so figured I would start here. I have probably 100-150 or so fishing magazines (primarily freshwater, BassMaster and InFisherman plus a few others) that I have accumulated over the years that I no longer have use for. Before I were to recycle them I wanted to see if there was any programs or clubs that could use them to donate to veterans or get to our troops or even to some kids who would enjoy reading them.
